Engineered control. Continuous protection.
After just 5 minutes of filtered Far-UVC exposure.
Research demonstrates that 222 nm Far-UVC can achieve 99.989% reduction in viable MRSA after just five minutes of laboratory exposure.1

Far-UVC is an invisible germicidal light at a wavelength of 222 nm. It damages the DNA and proteins of bacteria, viruses and fungi, so they can no longer replicate or cause infection. It acts on airborne and surface pathogens continuously, in the room where they are generated.

The Mediflow UVC Series deploys far-UVC in operating theatres and intensive care units as continuous, automated environmental control, designed to reduce the airborne and surface pathogen load that patients and staff are exposed to.
Operates during the case, not only between cases. Pathogens are deactivated as they are introduced to the space.
Set-up for automation in the background. Protection that does not depend on manual quality control, avoiding another check to the nursing workload.
Operates with people in the room, within recognised exposure limits and your radiation safety governance, with no need to clear the theatre.
Acts on airborne organisms in the room and on settled contamination on benches, trolleys and equipment.
Addresses the perimeter, equipment and surfaces outside the protected zone that laminar airflow is not designed to reach.
Fixture count, placement, mounting height and run hours are set from a model of your room, its airflow and its clinical workflows.
Independent laboratory testing shows reductions on surfaces against MRSA, VRE, Candida auris and multi-drug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii, and in air against Staphylococcus aureus

Mediflow’s Far-UVC provides a layered, engineered approach to environmental control in the operating theatre. It works continuously alongside laminar airflow: the canopy protects the sterile field, and far-UVC works on the room around it.
Deployment performance and safety depend on the right dose, in the right place, for the right duration, within the exposure limits for everyone in the room. That is set by your theatre, not by the fixture alone, so Mediflow engineers the system around your room, starting with a model of it.
