Major redevelopment included Mediflow systems to expand surgical services.

Located on Wickham Terrace in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, Brisbane Private Hospital is a flagship Healthscope facility serving more than 20,000 patients each year. With 181 beds, +17 advanced operating theatres, and a 24-hour ICU, it offers surgical expertise across orthopaedics, neurosurgery, ENT, plastic surgery, and general surgery, as well as leading rehabilitation services. Supported by 700 doctors and 500 staff, the hospital has been a cornerstone of private healthcare since the 1940s, evolving into a centre of excellence renowned for its quality outcomes, innovation, and patient-focused care.

As part of a major redevelopment, Brisbane Private Hospital and its partners, including Stryker, set out to create some of Australia’s most advanced surgical environments. The project required a complete strip-back of existing theatres to cold shell condition before rebuilding to new-generation standards. Mediflow installed MCS-X9 and X9-CP systems across multiple operating theatres, enabling centre-mount configurations to support specialist surgical procedures. The prefabricated, plug-and-play design allowed installation to be completed in just three days per theatre. The result was a step change in performance — rapid compliance, seamless integration, and reduced infection risks — bringing to life a new benchmark for surgical precision and patient safety in Queensland.
