Lingard Private Hospital Merewether
MCS-X9 & MCS-X9
About the Project
Upgrade of two operating theatres with Mediflow MCS-X9 systems to improve surgical performance.
Lingard Private Hospital is the largest private hospital in Newcastle and the Hunter region, delivering care on a scale matched only by its reputation for quality. With 125 beds, 14 advanced operating theatres, two cardiac catheter labs, and a dedicated ICU, Lingard treats thousands of patients every year across orthopaedics, cardiology, oncology, and general surgery. The hospital also boasts a robotic surgery program and two endoscopy suites, supported by 750 staff and 220+ specialists. As a Health Care facility, Lingard combines cutting-edge technology with a patient-first approach, creating trusted healthcare outcomes for the region’s growing population.
Upgrading two operating theatres at Newcastle’s largest private hospital came with significant challenges. The project involved working within existing building conditions, requiring careful coordination around ceiling congestion, legacy infrastructure, and the integration of new mechanical, medical, and electrical (MME) services.
Mediflow overcame these hurdles by delivering dual X9 clean air ceiling systems, providing consistent, validated airflow performance in line with the hospital’s high clinical demands. The prefabricated, modular design simplified installation, reduced clashes between trades, and ensured compliance was achieved seamlessly despite the complexity of the site.
With the addition of Mediflow’s integrated ceiling solution, Lingard Private now benefits from two of the region’s most advanced operating theatres — fully equipped with modern MME upgrades, state-of-the-art airflow control, and a design that future-proofs the theatres for years to come.
